NWT has been commissioned to reduce the costs for wastewater treatment and sludge disposal for a company in the electroplating industry in Western Austria. This industrial company is obliged by a direct discharge regulation to comply with extremely strict wastewater and environmental standards, which entail enormous costs on the OPEX side for chemicals. While the plant already complies with very high standards in the processing lines with chrome-free processes and closed loops, measures to increase the efficiency of wastewater treatment are being elaborated in a three-step project, mass balances of the existing lines, review of the potential and implementation of the measures. It is expected that the project can be completed in 2023.
