NWT is conducting a nationwide study on the quality, quantity and reuse possibilities of sludge from water treatment plants with a daily capacity of 25 million m3/d. The turbidity, which comes mainly from the Nil river, produces sludge with a high aluminium content. Recycling paths in the basic and building materials industries are identified and economically evaluated.
